The Bay Area Whip Dance Club(BAWDC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of the swing dance formerly known as the whip . We are based in League City, Texas, near Houston and the Johnson Space Center. We welcome new dancers and experienced dancers, both young and old.  BAWDC is a social club full of fun loving people.  We LOVE to DANCE and we’d love to share that experience with you.

We have dance classes once a week, parties throughout the year, an annual picnic, and other functions.  BAWDC recently celebrated it’s 30th anniversary!

* DuesMembership dues are payable for 6 or 12 months in advance. All dance lessons, club workshops, and parties are included. There are no other charges or expenses.

* Categories are

* Regular: $75 / person for 6 months and $125 / person for 12 months paid in advance.

* Juniors: $30 / person for 6 months and $50 / person for 12 months paid in advance. For full-time students age 16-to 22.

*  Youth: FREE! This is for students up to age 22, and their parents must be members in good standing at BAWDC.

OUR POLICY: It is the policy of this organization to provide services to those truly interested in dance, however, if deemed necessary, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.

When you Register for classes at BAWDC, you acknowledge a release of liability for the Club, it’s Officers, or Venue for personal injury at any Club function. Founded in September 1983 and chartered- incorporated in January 1985, the Bay Area Whip Dance Club (BAWDC) is a social club with an objective to promote and preserve the Whip style dance. We are a non-profit organization with no paid officers or instructors. Member’s dues and support of club functions/activities are our only means of revenue. BAWDC business meetings are held on the second Monday of each month. Officer nominations are held at these meetings each January; elections are held at the February business meeting each year. We encourage members to get involved in club operations and invite them to attend these meetings whenever possible.
