BAWDC Lindy Hop performers at Baybrook Mall's "Swing Your Sweetie Sweetheart Dance", 2/10/2001

The Lindy Hop is the original swing dance. It originated in the late 1920's, was popular through the 1940's, and experienced a revival during the 1980’s which continues today. Although there are variations and styles of the Lindy Hop, our classes center around the classic Savoy Style. Learn how to dance to modern neo-swing tunes like "Zoot Suit Riot", 50’s jump blues hits like "Jump, Jive, and Wail" or the old big band tunes like "In the Mood".

BAWDC Lindy Hoppers attend events like the "Fabulous Forties" Hangar Dance at the Lone Star Flight Museum in Galveston. Join BAWDC and join the fun! (l to r: Mike, Dee, Dennis, Lavenia, Ken, Diane)
