About Us
The Bay Area Whip Dance Club (BAWDC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of the swing dance form known as the Whip. We are based in League City, Texas, near Houston and the Johnson Space Center. New dancer and experienced, young and old, the BAWDC is a diverse group of people who love dancing and want to share that experience with everyone.
We have dance classes once a week, parties, picnics and other functions and we participate in events and competitions with other dance clubs in Houston, around the state, and throughout the U.S. In 2005, BAWDC celebrated it's 22nd anniversary!

Membership
- Dues
Membership dues are payable for six months in advance. All dance lessons are included. There are no other charges or expenses. - Categories
- Regular: $42/person for 6 months paid in advance. $60/person for 1 year paid in advance.
- Student: $21/person for 6 months paid in advance. For full time students up to age 22.
- Special Student: Free. This is for full time students up to age 22 and also living at home with their parents. They must also be covered on their parent's insurance and their parents must be members in good standing at BAWDC.

Details
Founded in September, 1983 and chartered- incorporated in January, 1985, the Bay Area Whip Dance Club (BAWDC) is a social club with an objective to promote and preserve the Whip style dance.We are a non-profit organization with no paid officers or instructors. Member's dues and support of club functions/activities are our only means of revenue. BAWDC business meetings are held on the second Monday of each month. Officer nominations are held at these meetings each January; elections are held at the February business meeting each year. We encourage members to get involved in club operations and invite them to attend these meetings whenever possible.
